What this site keeps, and what it does not.
Short version: no cookies, no advertising trackers, and your answers and checklist progress stay in your browser unless you choose to send a form.
Your editor finder answers
Your answers to the editor finder are kept in your browser's storage on your device, so the result can explain itself. They are not sent anywhere unless you fill in the optional form.
Your checklist progress
When you tick items on the self-editing checklist, your progress is saved in your browser's storage on your device so you can come back to it later. It is never sent to us. You can clear it at any time with the checklist's reset option or by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Counting visits
To know whether the site is useful, it counts events such as "a page was viewed," "the editor finder was finished with this result" and "the checklist was used." Each count is stored only as a total per day. No cookie is set, and no IP address, device ID or other identifier is stored with the counts.
Links that carry campaign tags
If you arrived from a link with campaign tags in the address (such as utm_source), the site keeps those tags in your browser for the session and sends them with the optional form, so Scribe knows which link brought you. Links from this site to scribemedia.com are tagged to show they came from here.
If you send the form
Your name, email, optional phone number, and, if you used the editor finder, your result and answers (or, from the checklist, how many checks you ticked) are sent to Scribe Media and stored in Scribe's customer system (HubSpot). Scribe uses them to get in touch with you and as described in the Scribe Media privacy policy. You can unsubscribe from Scribe's emails at any time.
Fonts and hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare and loads its fonts from Google Fonts. Like any web server, these receive standard request information such as your IP address in order to deliver the page.
